
When I was researching what to put on my registry and buy for my baby I was overwhelmed with all the things that there was for babies. I dove into all the different products and brands to see what I thought would be the best for me. Everyone’s different in their needs and preference’s, but this will get you started in the right direction for knowing all the things you may need or want for your baby.

What to put on your baby registry
Clothing
I chose to buy the clothes when I see them and other’s have bought clothes for the baby as well. I chose to keep this off my registry, but it is still a major category.
I did chose to add a pack of hat’s in size preemie so that my baby would have hat’s for right after the hospital, as I didn’t see any I liked in stores. Click here to see the pack of hat’s I went with.
Mitten’s were another thing I chose to add because I have a few outfit’s that don’t cover the hands and I want mittens to protect him from scratching himself. Click here to see the mitten’s I chose. I picked these one’s specifically because of the reviews of them staying on unlike other designs of mittens.
Hanger’s are also something you will want to have for your clothes. I got kid white plastic hangers at the store as I bought clothes. I also added a pack of wooden hangers on my registry so that I’d have cute hangers to display in the room on a shelf. Click here to see the wooden hanger’s I went with.
Bathing
Shampoo and body wash are a staple to have before your baby arrives. I chose this kinds because of it’s ingerents and is scentless, but it has scented options as well. Click here to see the shampoo/body wash I went with.
Lotion is great to have after a shower to keep their skin moisterized. I went with the matching lotion to my shampoo and body wash. Click here to see the lotion I chose.
Wash clothes are great to have for the baby, but if you already have some at home you may not need this item on your registry. Click here to see the kind I picked out.
Towels, like wash clothes you need them, but you may not need to buy any if you already have some at home.
Cradle cap brush, I wanted to have this available to me if my baby ended up having a problem with this. Click here to see what cradle cap brush I chose.
I knew I wanted to give my baby lot’s of baths and as they grow as well. Keeping safety in mind I chose to get a bathtub faucet cover to protect them from hit it hard and hurting themselves. Click here to see the cute faucet cover I got.
My husband and I are very bad at being able to tell what a good water temperature is. My husband leaning on the too hot side and myself leaning on the too cold side. To have piece of mind and not have to think about it we chose to get a bath thermometer. Click here to check out the one we went with.
Padding for your knee’s and elbows! Giving a baby a bath hurts without padding. This isn’t a must have, but definitely a very nice to have. Click here to check out the one we picked, it has storage too!
Diapering
Diapers are a must, but you may not need to add it to your registry depending on how you are doing things.
We went with a diaper bag that both my husband and I would wear and had practical pockets. We didn’t go with a cuter bag which I am okay with because it seems more practical for everyday use. Click here to see the diaper bag we picked out.
Depending on how you and your family runs things you may want a changing pad for your home. Other’s may never use it. Keep in mind the easier you can wipe it down the better!
You may want changing mat’s even if you don’t want a pad. This is because they are portable and able to be stored away easily. I plan to use this at home and when I’m out. Click here to see the kind I chose.
Diaper Cream Spatula’s are a hit or miss for many. You may want to look into them and decide if you think you’d get use out of them or not. Click here to check out diaper cream spatula’s. I am still undecided on if I want them or not.
Weighted wipe dispenser is a helpful thing to have to get one wipe out at a time. Click here to see the one I’m getting. It’s not a must for sure. You may also want to look into heated diaper warmers. Make sure to look into how many wipes it can hold!
Diaper caddy is something I knew I wanted. I actually will be getting 3. I knew I sit in 3 different spots in my home most often and would like to have diapers, wipes, clothes, breastfeeding supplies easily accessible to me. So I will be using these to set up stations. I can also grab one and bring it in the car to easily get up and go. Click here to check out the one I’m getting.
Wipes are a must, getting them in bulk is also an option to look into.
There are many different diaper creams out there for different purposes. Doing some research on the one’s to have on hand will be helpful.
Feeding
Bottles are something you may or may not need. The amount will also depend on the way you are feeding and how often you want to do dishes. I did lot’s of research before choosing which bottle I wanted. Click here to see the kind I went with.
I wanted to get a cups because I knew before I knew it my baby would be needing them. As of right now I plan on using straw cups instead of sippy cups. I chose this specific kind because of how easy to clean it is and how it isn’t likely to spill unlike traditional straw cups. Click here to check out the cups I got.
Dishes and silverware are another thing I knew I’d need sooner than I’d like to think about. I went with one that had all the dishes and silverware I needed to make it easy. Click here to check out the set I picked out.
I knew I’d have lot’s of dishes to do and want to keep the babies things away from ours so a dish basin was the answer to that. Click here to check out the dish basin I chose to go with.
Having a good set of bottle brushes will make cleaning bottles much easier. Click here to see the kind I chose. I like that it has a stand for them as well!
Bibs are great for when you are starting to feed them food. Also if they are teething and drooling a lot. Click here to check out the bib’s I went with.
Bottle warmer’s are great. They make many different kinds depending on your needs. Even portable one’s. Click here to check out what we picked out.
Bottle drying wrack are great to have to dry all the bottles and baby items. I wanted one that wouldn’t take up too much counter space and was thought out well. Click here to see what drying wrack I picked.
Something you may be forgetting about is as your baby grows you will most likely need bottle nipple’s in different sizes so that they can drink the proper amount for their age and weight. You will want to get the kind that are for your specific bottle type.
Burb clothes are great to have to not get spit up on or clean things up. Check out the one’s I picked out.
A bottle sterilizer is also something you may or may not want. Getting the drying feature is great if you do get one. There are many on the market, so researching which would best fit your needs is a great idea.
Health and Baby Care
You will need all different types of medicine for your baby, toddler, or kid. Doing research on what you need to have on hand and asking your doctor will be extremely helpful so that you are prepared for when the time comes.
Thermometer is a great thing to have. There are many different types for this as well which you may want to do some research on before deciding.
To help tame the crazy hair as it grows out you may want a hair brush or comb. Click here to check out the cute wooden set I got.
Baby monitor’s are something I did a lot of researching on before picking the one I went with. I knew I didn’t want a wifi camera. Click here to check out the one I picked. As my baby get’s older I will most likely switch to just an audio one.
Nail File and Nail clippers are something you may want to do research on before purchasing. I plan on using an electric file while my baby is young and then switching to nail baby scissors as they get older. These seem the easiest to use for myself. Babies and kids get tons of boogers and aren’t the best at being able to get rid of them on their own. Having a nose picker may be nice to have so you can easily remove them. Click here to check out the one I picked.
Just like the nose picker having a booger sucker will help you remove those boogers. The booger sucker is a must in my opinion. Click here to check out the booger sucker I went with.
Humidifier’s help keep moisture in the air and can be helpful for the baby. Click here to check out the one I picked. Make sure you clean them regularly and getting one without a filter will make it cheaper. since you don’t have to replace the filter every few weeks.
Nursery Bedding and Essentials
Waterproof crib mattress protector will save your mattress and make for easy clean ups. Click here to see the kind I picked out. It’s a two pack which is great for quick turn around.

Blankets and Swaddles are must haves and there are so many kinds on the market. Do some research one the kinds you’d like to have.
Nursing

Nursing pillow is something you will want to do some research on if you want it and what kind, there are many!
Ice packs for the pain are great to have on hand. Click here to see the one’s I’m getting.
If you plan on collecting colostrum you will want syringes to store it in. Click here to see the pack I’ll be using.
Breast pads are something you will need. There are disposable one’s and reusable one’s!
Nipple cream will help the pain, healing, and preventing. Click here to check out the kind I picked out.
Milk storage bags are something you will want if you plan on freezing milk! Click here to see the kind I have.
Silverette’s are something I want to help with healing and pain! I have heard great things about them and can’t wait to try them out. Click here to check them out!
Elvie catch is something I plan on using to catch my colostrum that I leak near the end of pregnancy. Then I will transfer it to the syringes. Click here to check it out.
Haakkaa is like the Elvie Curve, but a different shape. I will be trying both out to see how I like them. I am getting the kind that has a lid and a base so it’s not likely to spill. Click here to check out the kind I am getting.
Breast pump’s are something you will want to do your own research on! I went with a handsfree one. Click here to look into the kind I am getting.
Strollers and car Seats
After some thought we went with a carseat camera instead of a mirror. We want to be able to see our baby at night and clearly. Click here to check out the one we went with.
Getting a stroller fan was something I wanted not only for our baby, but also for me in the delivery room. Click here to see the one I’m getting.

Stroller caddy is something I wanted because the stroller I got didn’t have anywhere to place a drink or my phone. Click here to see the kind I picked.
Toys and Books
Books are amazing to have have and fun to pick out. I went with two different packs on amazon for different ages. I also got 2 black and white books for my baby to look at and for me to read to him as a newborn. Click here and click here to check those out.
I don’t have a lot of toys on my registry, but I did add a rattle toy that my baby can easily grab and chew on. Click here to check it out.

Furniture, Activity, and Gear
I picked a tummy time water mat because it looked like fun. Click here to check out the one I’m getting.
Baby play gym’s are great to have to set your baby down and entertain them. I went with 2 for different spots in my home. Click here and click here to check out the one’s I went with.
a stroller is something you may or may not need. There are so many different kinds and price points for these. I went with one that can be a bassinet stroller as well and is relatively affordable. Click here to check it out.
You will need carseats! Do some research on the kinds you want and the weight and heights they support. I went with an infant carseat that turns into a stroller so that I don’t have to carry around a heavy seat. The wheels also come off of this one so if I don’t plan on using the feature I don’t have to carry around the extra weight. Click here to check out the infant carseat I got.
I also went with a carseat for when they grow out of the infant seat that can do many ages and turn to easy get in and out my child. Click here to look into the carseat I got.
You will probably want a crib I just got a basic white one.
Crib Mattress is something that has many different price points and you will want to to some research on before purchasing.
You may want a bassinet. There are many kinds with different features. Click here to look at the one I got.
You will most likely want a spot to place your baby I chose to get a swing, but they make many different things to place your baby in (not for sleep) like bouncers or lounger.
Dresser or Changing table is something that you may want to store clothes or baby items as well as to change your baby on.
Glider or rocking chair is great to have to. Click here to check out the kind I went with. It’s perfect for me and just what I wanted!
Having some type of carrier will be helpful to get around while holding your baby. There are so many different kinds wraps, slings, structured carriers. They also allow for different things and different weights. You will want to do lot’s of research on this and see what would best suit your needs.
Diaper pale is something many people swear by having. I plan on just getting a lidded trash can and doggy diapers and grocery bags to put the diapers in to conceal the smell. Then empty the trashcan often.
Other

You may want to add a book shelf to your registry to store books and decorate your nursery with. Click here to see the 3 shelf set I got.
Babies are messy and having a good stain remover is a must. I went with one highly recommend to me. Click here to see the one I am getting.
Child proofing is something you will want to look into. Before you know it you will need it so getting it ahead of time and setting it up is a great idea.
