What is a weekly reset?
A weekly reset is where you set aside designated time to get something in order for the week. Having a set time to have a fresh start in the home and catch up on things that got neglected is a great way to help yourself stay on track and motivated for the week.
A weekly reset can look however you’d like it, but try to make a list of all the things you’d like to get done during this time that will make you feel like you are having a fresh start. This is also a great time to do the chores and tasks that you may have been putting off or aren’t a daily task.
Weekly resets are the best for getting your home and self ready for the week to come. Master your weekly reset by adding these items to your list of things to do.
1. Catch Up on Daily Chores
Life gets away from us all and sometimes (a lot of times) the home gets neglected throughout the week. Anything you let slip behind during the week you’ll want to catch up on now.
Some ideas for what you may be behind on are laundry, dishes, and cleaning. Catch up so that you’re no longer behind and can start the next week on the right foot. Not being behind on any chores is a great way to give yourself a breath of fresh air.
2. Wash Your Bedding
You may or may not be doing this enough, but wash your sheets. Now is a great time to wash your sheets so that you can always remember the last time you did them and keep it on a solid schedule.
Having a regular schedule to clean your sheets is great for your skin so make this a priority if you haven’t in the past.
3. Go Through the Pantry, Make a Grocery List
Get a feel of what your house already has and make a list of what you need to stock up on. Plan the meals you want to make or have for the following week.
Grocery planning can take a while so now is a great time to go through your planning process so that you don’t have to rush when the week gets busy.
Nothing starts a week out better than having a stocked fridge so you are able to easily create meals for yourself and your family.
4. Go Through and Organize Something
Is there a cabinet, closet, or a space in your home that needs some organizing? Adding this to your weekly reset will make it possible for you to get everything you’ve been wanting to be organized complete in an easy manageable way.
Just complete one space each week and you will have all those decluttering and organizing projects you’ve been wanting done in no time!
5. Self-Care
This shouldn’t be all about getting your home clean and organized, this should be about you as well. Getting your mind ready for the week to come is equally as important as your home.
Doing self-care is an amazing way to fill yourself up. This way you are able to give to everything and everyone else throughout the week.
6. Write Down Your Intentions for The Following Week
Now, write down or type into your notes app everything you want done the following week. Making it clear what all needs done will free up some space in your mind. Knowing what the week has coming is a great way to prepare for it.
Now is a great time to talk to the rest of the family to see their plans and so everyone in the house knows what to expect for the coming week.
7. Set Yourself Up for The Next Week
Is there anything that can help you get a step ahead? Meal prep is just one idea that could help you get a head start in the week. Try and do the things you feel will help you that week. Your future self will thank you.
Prepping anything you can ahead of time is an amazing way to save time when you are more rushed. Try it out and see if this is something you or your home could benefit from!
